Cabin Fever April 2020 Newsletter

March 2020 Newsletter

Hello, all of you wonderful people suffering from cabin fever! I’ve got something for you to do between your trips to the fridge and naps. Reading this newsletter update of course! I know, I know, Christ Link has been really quiet on social media recently and you are probably wondering where we have been. Well, we have been extremely busy with expedited website redesigns, interviewing and starting internal team members, putting together online trainings as well as just trying to keep up with all of the changes going on in the world!

My Mediocre Covid-19 Update

When Covid-19 shut everything down and changed our daily life, things quickly moved to internet marketing which started filling up my plate. As I looked at a large amount of social media posts going live and businesses releasing their statements I decided to invest in the work I was doing and take a step back from Christ Link’s online presence. While we could have written some things and created some content to get you interested in Christ Link, I felt we would be adding to the noise online. Our time would be more effective in helping our churches and Christian non-profits deal with the matter at hand.

It looks like things are starting to (finally!) get back to normal so I am excited to show and tell you what we have been up to!

Our Team Meeting

First, we had an amazing team meeting at the end of February. In it we were able to put together a board and join together a group of volunteers that will help to make Christ Link more effective. If you are interested in joining us but weren’t able to go to the meeting check out our join us page.

Our Board

Our first board meeting has been put on hold due to Covid-19, but that is okay. It gives us more time for prayer regarding Christ Links’ future. With so many things being shut down we will be put on hold to get approved as a non-profit, but that is not a primary concern at the moment. For our board I would love if you pray for unity, clarity and direction that is all in accordance with God’s will. It is so exciting setting up something I believe will make a large impact on the Christian community and Christian communication in the world, and it is daunting. The responsibility behind Christ Link does not escape me and I pray that in everything we do God would be honored.

Our Team

Our team is also being put together. In that, we are creating different trainings for our team members to learn about SEO, web design, and social media. This is going to play a huge role in Christ Link’s growth and future development.

Christ Link’s Recent Work

Using the wrong tools. While I can’t go through the trainings with each of you (unless you join our team) I can show you some of the client work we have been working on. Over the past month, we did two expedited website redesigns. These websites were essentially designed at their very bare bones. There aren’t any ministry pages on the sites yet and they are still going through the redesign process. Check out Faith’s and PGCC’s new website.

Faith Church Website Redesign

Faith Church was originally built on Squarespace. The site went through a full redesign and is now in WordPress and will probably be complete by June. See Faith Church’s website.

Pine Grove Community Church Website Redesign

I had actually built the old Pine Grove Community Church site when I was in college. Regrettably, I did not know what I was doing back then and had built it in Wix. While it allowed for a lot of control of the site’s appearance, it wasn’t the prettiest and did not have a unified branding. It also would not rank well in Google along with having terrible site loading speeds. It was so nice to amend these issues and create an effective website. See PGCC’s website.

Note, the purpose behind expediting the websites were situational and timely, from having to upload live lessons to integrating online giving.

What’s Next For Christ Link?

As we train and build our team you will also see our website and social media develop differently. It will not just be me writing, designing and posting everything. The large scale decision making will also be moved to the board. I hope to increase Christ Link’s efficiency and capabilities as we grow and develop as a non-profit.

Certain tasks and responsibilities will be taken off my hands. I hope to provide better services and more information regarding Christian marketing. If you are interested in learning more, subscribe. When you subscribe you will receive emails about updates and recent blog posts.

This is all really exciting! I ask that you would join us in praying for wisdom and clarity as we develop. Thank you all so much for your support!
