August 2022 Newsletter & Prayer Requests

After our two month summer break, our team members and the non-profits are back at it this month. Growing our web and digital marketing skills to help our nonprofit partners grow and reach more people. All of this is to help these Christian organizations save the lost.

This month we focused on event marketing, which is vital for many of our non profits. This coming fall Jewel Women Center And Independent Church In India have banquets. CMTS has its banquet in February. As we were discussing event marketing, we couldn’t help but notice that almost everything CEF of Schuylkill County does is an outreach event.

Our August Prayer Requests

Before we dive too deep into this month’s training, we always like to open with our prayer requests. Please continue to be praying for God to use our organization and for Him to be at the forefront of everything we do.

August 2022 prayer requests:

• Praise that our board has grown! We have two new board members, Cian and Sarah Nedisnky! We praise God for their decision to join us.
  Pray for the board to grow by a few more members in the next few months.
• Wisdom for our board as we make decisions and plan for developing 2023 fundraising, team events, overall growth, outreach for new team members, and sustainability.
• Pray for finances to purchase supplies like paper and ink or brochures. We will need these since we plan to go to churches and speak about Christ Link. (Donate to Christ Link!)
• Pray for God to be developing leaders within the Christ Link team. Also, He would put people on the teams where they are needed and where they should be serving.
• Pray for the nonprofits we work with to be blessed and to grow in their marketing and online presence. This month’s prayer requests for the non-profits that were at the meeting:
  • Jewel Women Center has a lot of new challenges now that Roe v Wade has been overturned. Pray for wisdom and fortitude for the people serving there and for women to continue choosing life for their unborn babies.
  • CMTS’s Equip gap year program is in full swing! Pray that God works in these students and the staff and that their hearts are strengthened in Him.
  • ICII, among many things their ministries are doing (from protection for their missionaries to continued growth and support for their pastors), is getting ready for their November fundraising banquet. Pray that this would be a really effective event in terms of finances and awareness!
  • CEF of Schuylkill County is wrapping up its summer camps and has reached hundreds of young students. Please pray that the work done and seeds planted will grow in the children and help them acknowledge Christ as Lord.
• As the team develops in training and skills that they would work in unity. As we grow we want to ensure unity between our team members and different teams. Everyone is presently getting along and having fun working to grow Christian organizations’ websites, we want our team’s roots to grow deep and for there to always be unity between team members.

August’s Meetup: Event Marketing

As mentioned in the introduction, we learned about the process of event marketing. The idea is to look at events like a product when marketing and advertising for it. A lot of the discussion revolved around how to plan and organize the event utilizing spread sheets, designing an event page, and utilizing a marketing and social media team. We also discussed vendor marketing and how to plan and organize so that you are prepared for future events.

August’s Board Meeting

As mentioned in the prayer requests and praises, the Christ Link board welcomed Cian and Sarah Nedisnky. We are very grateful that our prayers for our board to grow have been answered. We will create a new page on our website that shows who our board and team members are!

The board approved a change to the Christ Link calendar year, which was announced at this training. The purpose of this change is so we can align our trainings with CMTS’s gap year program Equip. The Equip program is a Christian gap year that allows us to train these students in digital marketing. This will also equip (pun intended) our team with more members! We are going to have a modified/abridged year this spring for the present Equip program students who just started attending our regular training. After the abridged spring training, we will commence the next year in August of 2023.

While a break like we had is always good, we are really excited to jump back into the swing of things and see what God has next for Christ Link.
