August 2020 Newsletter

And just like that, the summer is over. Well, not for me. The summer isn’t over until I have to wear a coat every day of the week. So I’ve got at least 3 more months.

Our Board’s Activities

What have we been up to? We have been tackling the steps in getting approved as a Nonprofit on the national scale. This is an arduous process that simply takes a while because of the legal jargon that describes what we should do. It is honestly like reading another language. Luckily we are chipping away at it and finalizing our bylaws as well.

We could go the faster and much more expensive route of paying for a lawyer to do everything, but in all honesty, we aren’t in a rush. The work is still being done whether we get nonprofit status or not. If we are denied, I will still run Christ Link like it is a nonprofit, we just won’t get the financial support to pay for renting buildings, or food for team meetups and all that stuff. Essentially we would be forced to stay smaller, but that is okay.

Our Team’s Activities

This month we trained on how to write a blog post. This is important for any internet marketer to know because so many of our clients have blogs that are vital for their web presence and online ranking. We also started having our team meetings at Jenny and Nolan’s place (which is wonderful, air-conditioned and a bit more spacious!)

Our team has been working on CMTS Ministries website and will be launching that next month. We are also so excited because our team member Katie is taking online classes for graphic design. This is so wonderful, especially because this is an area that Christ Link is lacking expertise. While I can make designs that are passable, I do not feel they are on a level that is expert. Katie is working towards becoming an expert within this area. I’m not only excited for her in diving into this being a future career, but I am so excited for the knowledge and skills she is bringing to our team that I frankly do not have.

In summary, we are doing a ton of things that I don’t have the time to write about. I hope to get more and more effective in showing you what we are doing. Please be praying for more team members to join us in the new year and for us as we are getting our application together for our official nonprofit status.
