Happy Spring! What Has Been Happening At Christ Link?

Hello everyone! So as always I am terrible at updating you on what is happening at Christ Link! I always feel like I have a million things to say and it would be way more effective if I just told everyone about it weekly. Either way, I am now writing a massive blog post to cover everything. I plan to be much more active in updating everyone on what is being done on a regular basis, so brace yourself for blog posts and social media posts galore!

Christ Link In 2021

I was honestly feeling very discouraged over the winter and unsure about what Christ Link looked like in 2021. Not knowing what would be possible for us to accomplish this year and how we can grow and improve I made a huge mistake and held back from working internally on Christ Link and primarily focused on client management over the winter months. This led me to feeling a bit alone in my ministry and more unsure of myself and the mission of Christ Link.

Through working with the board and a lot of realizing my own struggles, we have more clarity in the future of Christ Link. So we have been getting a lot of work done, and you need to know about it!

Christ Link Client Work

Over the past few months we have accomplished the following:

• We met with ICII and got their website transferred over to a hosting platform. Which is amazing because their site was getting too big for my computer to handle. We will be focusing on their site a lot and it should be live before June!
• Throughout January and February we have been working with Jewel Women’s Center to get the PPC campaign up and running. Communicating with them almost weekly we have an ad campaign that will be an integral part of their ministry. We will be helping to optimize and improve their PPC strategy over time. What is PPC? Essentially when people are searching for Planned Parenthood or Abortion related terms they find Jewel Women’s Center.
• We have recently taken on a new client called GlobalRize! We are extremely excited to work with them and help to grow their mission. Learn more about GlobalRize.
• Just this week we were able to help CEF of Schuylkill County update their website and Google My Business because they are moving to a new location! This is so exciting and we hope it helps their ministry immensely.
• We went through all of our existing clients websites and updated them internally so they can keep functioning at top speed and efficiency.

Christ Link Board & Internal Growth

Our Board has been working tirelessly and focusing on the future of Christ Link. While we have been focusing on internal structure and responsibilities, below are a few of the things we have accomplished.

• We have submitted our 501(c)3 application and are waiting to hear back for our official approval! While we are recognized as a nonprofit at the state level, to truly function as a nonprofit we need to be approved on the federal level. Our board banded together and donated finances towards Christ Link to make our growth and future possible.
• Mary Jane Horton, our treasurer has been a huge part of the team in navigating the finances and paperwork of Christ Link. She has gotten our taxes filed (not that we made any income) and has been a huge help in all of the background work of running a nonprofit.
• We Are Accepting Donations! Yes! You heard that right! We are now able to accept donations. If you believe what we are doing and Christ Link’s mission please donate!

The Christ Link Team Work

This will be a year of building and developing. While we are young as a team, our team member Hannah Noecker has grow immensely in her design skills and is so amazing in how she serves at Christ Link. She has already played an integral part on ICII’s website and is working on growing her design skills and client management skills.

I (Wesley) am learning a lot of leadership skills, primarily the ones I lack. I’ve realized as a leader I am not dynamic as a motivator and I get too focused on the work and fail to uphold the vision of Christ Link at the forefront of my mind. If you can pray for me in that, it would be a huge help.

As I am working at becoming a more motivating and supportive leader I am also working out training plans for different volunteer tracks. Hannah while going through these trainings is working with me as well since she had become part of Christ Link last year and started learning internet marketing back then. We hope to develop a 3 month introductory training that all team members go through before diving into Christ Links specific trainings for different areas of web services. 

Future Communication & Updates

Rather than doing newsletter spontaneously I plan to post on social media more frequently about what we are doing every single week as well as communicating about our mission and volunteer opportunities more clearly. Please be praying for the future of Christ Link and that God would work through us to help other ministries reach and save the lost.
